  • "Leopold Segedin: Games, Trains, and Planes" at the University of Illinois School of Art + Design

    The Link Gallery at the University of Illinois School of Art + Design at Champaign-Urbana will be the site of "Leopold Segedin's Chicago: Games, Trains, and Planes." The show will hang from May 22 through June 15, 2019 with a closing reception on Saturday, June 15 from 5:30 to 7:30pm.

  • Two Upcoming Exhibitions

    Two upcoming exhibitions will feature Leopold Segedin.

    Opening September 15, 2018, a solo career retrospective at the Rare Nest Gallery in Chicago's Avondale neighborhood.

    A show featuring Leopold Segedin, Art Lerner, and Seymour Rosofsky will be at The Madron Gallery from October 1 through the end of the year. Opening reception will be Thursday, October 18, 2018.

  • "Old Man Dancing #3 used for Michael Smith's latest CD

    November, 2012: Michael Smith's latest CD, Old Man Dancing features the artist's painting by the same name. This is Smith's second CD to include Segedin artwork for its cover. The release of There in 2000 included the painting "A View of Chicago" on its cover, plus the song Hey, Kid that was influenced by a Segedin painting.

  • Leo Segedin is an "Octogenarian Hipster"…

    July 29, 2012: …according the the July 29, 2012 issue of the Chicago Tribune's Printers Row magazine. A two page graphic essay by Ken Krimstein includes Segedin with photographer Art Shay and vocal visionary Ken Nordine as people who have been "...doing it with sounds. With pictures, paintings, and lithographs…since the 1960s or '50s or even the '40s!"

    July 15, 2007: The artist's work moves from canvas and paper to silicon and pixels with the creation of his first website. LeopoldSegedin.com will let visitors search and browse hundreds of paintings, read dozens of essays, and be kept abreast of upcoming exhibitions, lectures, and other events. His new blog will promote discussion of his work and other issues - both weighty and light.
